History

The Hummel Group has exceeded expectations in the local insurance and financial services markets for over five decades.

Our Orrville office was founded in 1951 as the R. E. Miller Insurance Agency. The Hummel Insurance Agency of Berlin was started in 1957. In 2003, the two businesses came together to form Hummel Group, Inc. In 2009 we expanded into Wooster, Ohio, when the Taylor Agency joined Hummel Group. Also in 2009, Yoder Insurance Agency in Shipshewana, Indiana, was brought on board to expand services to Northern Indiana.

Since then, the Hummel Group has grown to be a recognized insurance and financial services leader distinguished by both a clear understanding of small town values and leading edge products.
