The Ohio BWC has increased the maximum savings to 53% for the 2012 Group Rating Year! There is still time to submit an AC-3 (BWC required quote request form) and if they are received before the end of January, 2012 there should still be time to get it reviewed and/or approved before the final selection date of February 28th, 2012.

West Virginia deer continue to find the front of vehicles more than any other state, according to State Farm claims data. But the overall number of deer-vs.-vehicle collisions is down for the third year in a row. Ohio is 1 in 121 and still considered a high risk state.

This Fall, Hummel Group was able to partner with the East Holmes Soccer League in sponsoring elementary soccer teams. Two of our employees, Chris Gertz and Burke Hummel (both of the Berlin location), partnered with the Hiland High School men's and women's soccer programs to have a 6 week league consisting of development practices and Saturday morning games at Berlin Elementary School. The League had 197 kids K-6 that participated in this program.

A Certified Insurance Counselor and veteran of agency business, Eric was born and raised in Millersburg, Ohio. A 1982 graduate of West Holmes High School, Eric continued his education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he obtained his B.S. degree in Mass Communications.

Group Rating is a program offered through the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) which permits employers with better-than-average claim histories to join together through a sponsoring organization for the purpose of being rated as a larger group. By participating in group rating, employers enjoy much lower premium than could be attained on their own.
