I was born and raised in Kidron, OH, and graduated from Dalton High School in ’99. While at The University of Akron, I had the opportunity to study abroad in southern Germany for 7 months, and graduated with a Sales Management and Marketing Bachelor’s degree. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and have assisted in a couple of business startups both before and after I entered the world of investment advising in 2007.
My wife (Bethany) and I currently live in Orrville, OH with our dog, Moses, and we get to be the fun aunt and uncle to our nieces and nephews. I’m a big proponent of finding balance in life, so when I’m not with clients, family or friends, you’ll likely find me in one of several places…on my back patio with something in my smoker, in my woodshop dreaming up something to create, exploring new places while traveling or, my favorite, piloting an airplane and watching the world go by as I fly overhead.
I used to believe that financial planning was the art of helping clients gain the discipline to save as much as possible so they can retire as soon as possible. As I’m entering my 13th year of helping people navigate their finances, I’ve realized that financial planning isn’t as much about mastering the discipline of saving, but much more about helping people prioritize the relationships, passions and dreams of their life. The reality is, life throws us curve balls every once and a while that can take us down an unexpected path. Through actively engaging in someone’s life, I’ve found tremendous satisfaction in helping people find the proper balance of saving responsibly for the future, while not losing sight of enjoying their life in the present.
