Wooster, Ohio — Hummelis pleased to announce the addition of Mike Berry to its team, bringing decadesof public safety, fire prevention, and risk mitigation experience that willdirectly benefit Hummel clients across a wide range of industries.

Mike joins Hummelafter a distinguished 25-year career with the Wooster Division of Fire, wherehe served as a firefighter/paramedic and spent 15 years as Deputy Fire Marshal.In that role, he led fire investigations, conducted complex property and life safetyinspections, evaluated hazardous conditions, and worked closely with businessesto reduce risk exposures and prevent losses. His background offers Hummelclients a practical, real-world perspective on identifying risks before theyresult in claims.

At Hummel, Mike willwork directly with clients to evaluate and reduce their overall risk profile.His responsibilities include in-depth property inspections such as sprinklergrading, construction analysis, drone-based roof inspections, thermal imaging assessments,and evaluations of hazardous material storage. He will also assess life safetyprotocols, assist with the development and implementation of safety handbooks,policies, and procedures, and provide targeted safety training for employees.

All of Mike’s work isfocused on one goal: helping clients prevent losses, reduce claims, andultimately lower insurance costs through proactive risk management strategies.

Mike holds a degree inPublic Safety from Stark State College and remains active in professionaleducation and training. He serves as an adjunct instructor for fireinvestigator courses at Cuyahoga Community College, ensuring his knowledgestays current and aligned with evolving safety standards. In addition, heserves as a trustee with the Fire Data Exchange Association in Stark County andowns and operates a CPR and First Aid training business—experience that furtherstrengthens his ability to deliver practical, compliance-driven safetysolutions for Hummel clients.
