CRAZY CELEBRITY INSURANCE POLICIES

March 10, 2020

In the world of the rich and famous, love comes in many forms as evidenced by celebrities taking out hefty insurance policies to protect beloved body parts they consider near and dear to them or of value to their professional careers. From teeth to legs, here’s how many of today’s celebrities are safeguarding their “private assets” to keep themselves in the limelight for years to come.

As early as the 1980s, world-famous singer/songwriter Bruce Springsteen recognized the importance of his raspy voice to his singing career and insured his vocal cords for $6 million. Years later, superstar Mariah Carey would follow suit by insuring her fiveoctave vocal cords for a whopping $35 million to protect her against any eventuality during an upcoming world tour.

An iconic smile like Julia Roberts’ is well worth protecting and apparently the actress feels the same as evidenced by the $30 million insurance policy she’s purchased to safeguard her beautiful teeth. In contrast, Miley Cyrus’ habit of sticking out her tongue for paparazzi photos prompted her to insure this unusual feature for $1 million so as not to disappoint her fans in the event of sickness or an unforeseen accident.

Notwithstanding, some assets are definitely worth insuring such as Rolling Stones Keith Richard’s hands which are crucial to his guitarist career. Keith’s precious hands are insured for $2 million.

Both Rihanna and Taylor Swift have insurance policies on their legs, howbeit for different reasons. Apparently Rihanna took out a $1 million policy on her legs to protect them from harm after receiving the “Venus Breeze Celebrity Legs of a Goddess” award in 2007. On the other hand, Swift’s legs are rumored to be insured for $40 million against injuries that could hinder her from dancing during her singing performances.

Speaking of legs, world-famous sports player Cristiano Ronaldo has good reason to insure his, taking into account the 700 goals his legs have helped him score over the years. The sports icon obviously places high value on his legs having taken out a policy for $45 million each.

The old saying “different strokes for different folks” couldn’t be truer when it comes to the assets celebrities value on a personal or professional level. Kim Kardashian’s concern for the state of her bum is evidenced by her hefty insurance policy of $21 million to protect her posterior against harm. Then there’s Daniel “007” Craig who has insured his entire body against the risk of injuries while performing some of his own stunts in his James Bond films. Taking into consideration that injuries have occurred, this was a very smart move on his part.
